Court Reporting Services
NOTICE REGARDING COURT REPORTING SERVICES
(Cal. Rules of Court, rule 2.956; Gov. Code, §§ 68086, et seq.)
Effective Monday, October 31, 2011
The Napa Superior Court provides Court Reporting Services at the court’s expense in all proceedings for which such services are required by law. As a result of statewide budget reductions, official court reporters are no longer provided by the Court in proceedings for which such services are not legally mandated. These proceedings include civil law and motion matters. If counsel wish to have the hearing on their civil law matter reported, they have two options:
- Elect to use the services of a private local court reporter with whom the Napa County Bar Association has negotiated the rates highlighted below. Counsel will have to arrange for a reporter to be present for the matter or hearing in question. The parties will be responsible for paying the court reporter for this service, and arrangements for payment can be made on the day of the hearing. See below for the current fee schedule, although this schedule is subject to change and may be changed by the service provider(s) at any time.
- Arrange for a private court reporter of their choosing to be present.
